Synopsis

A quarter of the UK's seabourne trade comes through one of ABP's ports. IT plays an important role in managing the import and export of cargo through our ports.

This talk is on the use of techhology in the ports industry from the perspective of the Port Authority and a Terminal Operator. We will provide an ovewrview of the flow of information between the vessel's agent and the Port Authority which is used to manage the vessels arrival and departure. Switching perspectives we will then look at the information flow between the vessel operators and the terminal which is used to manage the container loading and unloading process.

Poster A single sheet A4 poster for the event is available for for display on notice boards.
