XP Migration, Zero Touch Deployment - Myth or Reality
|
| Date |
20th October 2004, Wednesday |
| Time |
18:30 for 19:00 |
| Speaker |
Stephen Hyde
(Computacenter (UK) Ltd) |
| Venue |
Cardiff University, Trevithick Building,
The Parade (off Newport Road), Cardiff Map |
| Description |
The talk will discuss how an XP migration, and ultimately a support
environment, can benefit from using 'zero touch' deployment methods. It
will separate the hype from the reality, and reveal how and where xp can
be deployed to a desktop remotely without local interaction by an
installation engineer. The longer term benefits will also be discussed, in
how this can benefit the operational environment and drive down the cost
of support
This talk will be of interest to anyone who has to specify, install,
manage, support or maintain decentralised systems, whether already XP,
planning to be, or thinking about it; as well as the project and programme
management community. |
