Description

Wargaming is used in today’s Military to provide support to decision-making, training and concept development.

This talk aims to provide an overview of computer-based constructive simulation war games.

The talk will consider:
-The military context
-Constructive simulation techniques
-Technical architectures
-Game mechanics
-Data issues

Examples will be drawn from the Minerva wargame, which is currently in use by the Directorate of Land Warfare to provide a first-cut analysis capability in support of concept and doctrine development.

Luke Fielder leads the Minerva development team for NSC, a company specialising in wargame simulation.

At this meeting the BCS will present a Branch Service Award to Noel Cox, a retired branch committee member who gave many years of service to the BCS.
