BCS South Wales Young Professionals Group
Welcome to the South Wales Young Professionals Group!
As one of the fastest-growing and largest member groups in the BCS, the Young Professionals Group (YPG) is dedicated to providing representation, services and a support network to all members under the age of 35.
We aim to keep you up-to-date with current events aimed primarily at Young Professionals and seek to provide a forum for you to meet and interact with other YPG members in South Wales.

Easter Social & Networking Event - 27th March 2007
Our first social networking evening in Wales, 27th March 2007 saw over 30 attendees convene at Cardiff's 'Tiger Tiger' for an evening focused on learning about and leveraging the opportunities created by the YPG for local members.
The evening included a 'speed networking' exercise, aimed at breaking the ice and getting participants to get to know all about one another in only three minutes. We were also joined by Jennifer Hewitt, Co-Vice Chair of the YPG National Committee, who gave a short presentation on the BCS and the YPG. Jennifer said that the BCS is in favour of the YPG running more local and social YPG events. The BCS also strongly encourages members to show their support for events by attending as well as getting involved.
Feedback from the event had been very positive, with comments such as: 'Very enjoyable overall – applause all round!' As a testimony to the effectiveness of the event, the South Wales committee members left the event with a long list of topic suggestions and requests for future events, as well as names of new volunteers.
The South Wales branch are planning to hold the next YPG social networking event in the next few months with a focus on career building and development.
